The Slovak Dance Group NI are made up of young performers who preserve the tradition of Slovak culture in Northern Ireland. The dance, along with music and other folk traditions, lives today as a testimony of the Slovak spirit, and are indeed what Slovaks affectionately and somewhat reverently call the "pearls of Slovak culture."

Chinese Lion Dance

Chinese Lion Dance

The Flying Dragon dancers amaze young and old with their daring acrobatic feats. The lion and dragon dances are traditional Chinese art performed on big occasions, such as the Spring Festival (Chinese New Year) for good luck, as it is believed that the lion and dragon are auspicious animals. Performed in a lion and dragon costumes, accompanied by the music of beating drums, clashing cymbals, and resounding gongs, the dances imitate a various movements and demonstrate martial arts agility.
