The 16th annual Belfast Mela will take place between the 20– 28 August 2022 with a week long programme of events across the city. As part of the week long programme there are two flagship events with a whole range of trading and exhibiting opportunities.

Brand new to this year is our opening event, Mela Carnival. Following a 6 month community engagement programme we will create an 800 participant carnival parade through the city centre to mark the beginning of the festival. Following the carnival parade there will be a free global village party in the grounds of City Hall.

The culmination of the week long festival will be our traditional large scale one day event at Botanic Gardens, which attracts thousands of attendees over the course of 6 hours.
