Mela goes green with environmental wellbeing project at the Holylands
To celebrate the launch of Carmel and Palestine Street Community Garden and Green Alleyway, come and enjoy a magical Mini Mela in the Holylands. With the tastes of global culture, the Mini Mela will include Chinese Fan Dance, African drumming, henna artwork, music, craft and gardening workshops and a Chinese Lion Dance.
ArtsEkta have been working with local residents, Forward South, the PSNI, Belfast City Council, Queens University and Migrant Help to provide safe outdoor spaces that contribute to mental and physical health of our neighbours and neighbourhood.
This Mini Mela also offers an exclusive preview of Belfast Mela’s week long celebration of culture which will see world music, dance, theatre and arts events taking place across the city before the big finale at Botanic Gardens on 28 August.
