Widely regarded as the biggest step forward for the art-form in decades, the Orchestral Qawwali Project has captivated audiences through its unique combination of Sufi poetry, Indian Classical dance and orchestral arrangements.
Written and directed by composer, Rushil, the Project features the soaring, vocals of Abi Sampa in effortless combination with rich orchestral arrangements and the dynamic grace of Amrit Dhuffer’s tabla.
Over the last 9 months, they have been working with acclaimed Irish composer Neil Martin to deliver a dynamic fusion of Celtic and Sufi sounds in what promises to be a magical evening of world music.
We are hugely honoured to welcome this eclectic group to perform on the island of Ireland for the first time.
Supported by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland’s Commissioning Programme.
