Culture Land is a magical children's arts experience where young ones and their parents are invited on a journey through the world to make discoveries and learn new things.

Experience a line up of crafts, sounds, dance, stories and art, giving them a true cultural experience they will never forget. Get your passport and suitcase at the ready and embark on a journey across the globe to explore cultures and traditions.

Slovak Dance Group

Slovak Dance Group

The Slovak Dance Group NI are made up of young performers who preserve the tradition of Slovak culture in Northern Ireland. The dance, along with music and other folk traditions, lives today as a testimony of the Slovak spirit, and are indeed what Slovaks affectionately and somewhat reverently call the "pearls of Slovak culture."

Belfast Busking Band

You may have spotted these guys across the city with their amazing busking tunes. The Belfast Buskers Band are a four piece who love playing a huge mix of music including; soul, funk, jazz, folk, ska, bossanova, reggae, hip hop and r&b.

Afrikan Warriors

Afrikan Warriors

Direct from the dusty streets of Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania, The Afrikan Warriors bring the finest East African acrobatics to Inverness. Their high-energy show includes rope-skipping, tumbling, limbo, human pyramids and dance. Having performed at street festivals and in circuses across the world, they know how to put on a show to leave everyone smiling.

Chinese Lion Dance

The Flying Dragon dancers amaze young and old with their daring acrobatic feats. The lion and dragon dances are traditional Chinese art performed on big occasions, such as the Spring Festival (Chinese New Year) for good luck, as it is believed that the lion and dragon are auspicious animals. Performed in a lion and dragon costumes, accompanied by the music of beating drums, clashing cymbals, and resounding gongs, the dances imitate a various movements and demonstrate martial arts agility.

Community Tribal Drummers

Join Marcella from the Community Tribal Drummers for an open air drum circle and experiment with different cultural sounds, percussion and song to make 'in the moment' music.

Visit our Culture Land craft workshops with traditional arts from Poland, Africa, India, Russia and Japan. Get hands on and take home your very own Mini Mela creation while learning about cultures.

Visit our amazing outdoor installation and feast your eyes on an array of intricately painted truck art models inspired by the South Asian traditions of truck art. Join our Mela artists for a chance to add to our truck art mural while learning about the rich traditions of South Asian culture.
