Belfast Mela

COVID 19 Safety Promise

Your safety is our number one priority and we are implementing a robust Covid 19 management plan to ensure you can visit this year’s festival with peace of mind.

As society moves out of lockdown and we see the reopening of our economy we will continue to apply the latest rules and regulations in relation to how we plan and manage this year’s Mela events.

We have taken the decision to run events over a full week so there is something for everyone to enjoy and get involved in, from small indoor events and pop up performances to walking tours and outdoor events without the need to gather in large crowds.

For Indoor Events

  • 2m social distancing
  • Allocated seating and table service (for bar/food orders)
  • Wearing of face covering mandatory when moving around venue e.g. to use the toilet
  • One way systems in operation in venues
  • Hand sanitisation on arrival
  • Temperature check on arrival
  • Contract tracing in operation
  • No dancing permitted
  • All staff and crew will wear masks at all time

For Outdoor Events

  • 1m+ social distancing
  • Wearing of face covering recommended but optional
  • Hand sanitisation on arrival
  • Temperature check on arrival
  • Contract tracing in operation
  • One way system in operation
  • Most outdoor events will be standing and we ask that you respect 1m+ distancing
  • Dancing is permitted within your family/friends bubble
  • Staff and crew will wear masks in areas where they are in close contact with attendees

We respectfully ask that if you are feeling unwell or showing any symptoms of Covid 19 that you do not attend the event. If you are self-isolating even with a negative test you should not attend the event. Unfortunately in these circumstances refunds cannot be offered.

We look forward to seeing you all at one of our festival events from 23rd – 29th August and celebrating with you in a safe and enjoyable environment.
